Congratulations Mashburn Elementary, the recipient

Congratulations Mashburn Elementary, the recipient of a $5,000 “Tools for Schools” grant from Order Out Of Chaos.

The generous donation was used for playground equipment for students with autism.

Leslie Josel, founder and principal of Order Out of Chaos, is the mother of an ADHD child and a respected resource on ADHD and executive functioning. Ms. Josel presented a check to Steve Miller, Principal, Mashburn Elementary.

Today’s event marked the end of the construction phase by the team from the city. The construction has been passed on to the individual businesses to complete their buildouts.

Mayor Troy Brumbalow is pleased to announce a Cumm

Mayor Troy Brumbalow is pleased to announce a Cumming City Center ribbon cutting event on Friday, June 24th at 10 a.m. in the Lou Sobh Amphitheater! The event will feature an address from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, as well as several community speakers including Mayor Brumbalow, State Rep. Lauren McDonald, Forsyth Central High School Principal Dr. Josh Lowe, and our "Honorary Mayor" 12-year-old Charlie Westbrook. This event marks the end of the City of Cumming's construction phase and the beginning of tenant businesses' buildouts. While no businesses will yet be open on June 24th (this is not a "grand opening" event), this will be the public's first official chance to check out the City Center and its facilities, following the ribbon cutting ceremony. A grand opening event is being planned for August (more information on that later this summer!). The ribbon cutting is open to the public and those attending should park in the 11th Street parking lot, adjacent to Forsyth Central High School (a shuttle will be available to transport guests to the amphitheater area).
