CANTON, GA – The 2017 Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 23 rd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 24 th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The popular Riverfest event, presented by the Service League of Cherokee County, will take place at our NEW location, Etowah River Park in Canton, GA along the picturesque banks of the Etowah River. Riverfest is a juried show, featuring original, creative, handmade work from artisans all over the region. Additionally, the event showcases extraordinary entertainment throughout the weekend – live music and dancing – as well as a fun-filled children’s area where children of all ages can participate in a number of rides and activities.
Patrons, new and those returning, are invited to save the date for Riverfest, the Service League’s largest annual fundraising event. All proceeds benefit the needy children of Cherokee County.
Riverfest has become, for many families, a not-to-be-missed event for kicking off the fun of the season as the cooler, crisp days of autumn arrive. This year’s festival features more than 200 arts and crafts exhibitors, concessionaires, and entertainers. We have many returning favorites as well as several new and exciting exhibitors and features. Select recipes from The League’s latest cookbook, Gatherings & Traditions, will be offered to festival patrons for tasting, and cookbooks will be available for purchase.
The Service League of Cherokee County is one of the oldest service organizations in Cherokee County, with a membership of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year to raise funds for needy children throughout Cherokee County. Funds raised during Riverfest, and other fundraising events sponsored by the League, provide needy families with day-to-day necessities such as food; clothing; dental care; eyeglasses; medical care; rental and utilities assistance; scholarships and much more.
