Pinecrest Academy senior Jake Mangan has received a 4-Year Naval ROTC full scholarship worth $136,000, with a Marine Option, at Auburn University. He will be studying Building Science, specializing in Military Science. After completing his four years as an undergraduate, Mangan will serve as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. His commitment to the military will be four years Active Duty and four years in the Reserves.
“Since PreK, Jake has demonstrated exceptional leadership, particularly through his personal example,” commented Dr. Ed Lindekugel, Pinecrest Headmaster and High School Principal. “Our entire community congratulates Jake and his family for achieving this honor, and for all his accomplishments over these past 15 years as a student at Pinecrest Academy.”
“He is a beautiful example of the fulfillment of the school’s purpose, ‘forming Christian leaders who will transform society,’ achieved through a collaborative partnership between his incredible parents and the school.”
Mangan also received 3-Year Army ROTC full scholarships to the University of Alabama, University of Mississippi and Louisiana State University. He chose to decline these scholarships to pursue his dream of becoming a Marine Officer.
Mangan has attended Pinecrest Academy for 15 years, starting with PreK3.
